Position Summary:


About Sustainable Finance Initiative. In 2011 Rainforest Alliance launched, in collaboration with Rabobank and Citigroup, a Sustainable Finance Initiative. It works at both demand and supply ends of financial services, to improve farmer literacy and business organization and to facilitate development of financial products that can serve smallholder farmers. The initiative has developed and piloted business and financial management training and developed relationships with social finance institutions, as well as mainstream financial services institutions. The initiative has worked to date in Latin America and Africa and the project provides an opportunity to expand to Asia.


About the project Scaled sustainability through brand led collaboration. The project will take to scale in Indonesia a sustainability system that has been developed and tested by the world’s largest coffee brand, in collaboration with a leading NGO in sustainable agriculture. The Nescafé Better Farming Practices (NBFP) are designed to move farmers through the 4C Association’s baseline sustainability verification and on to further improvements in productivity, quality and sustainability. The project will incorporate and generate learning for the industry on key drivers of improvements in: farmer livelihoods; farm adaptation to climate variability; farmers’ business skills and access to financial services.


Consultant or Firm Scope of Work Summary.
At the end of the implementation we expect 1,000 farmers will have been trained in business skills and financial literacy, of which 700 will be implementing bookkeeping and 300 will have achieved improved access to finance.


Deliverables | Producers and local groups strengthen their business management:
•Trainers have successfully integrated basic business and financial management into their training courses;
•1,000 farmers are applying basic tools to calculate the cost of implementing NBFP;
•Costs and benefits of applying the NBFP sustainability practices are calculated;
•Pilot study has been undertaken on farmer access to finance;
•Two financial services organizations are in active dialogue with RA on potential lending.


Qualifications:


It is expected that the Consultant or Firm will have demonstrable experience in capacity building and training of adults in agriculture, farm management, basic finance, business management, or related fields; experience within NGOs and in tropical countries. Specifically:


•First-hand knowledge of the concepts of sustainable agriculture; knowledge of the coffee sector preferred;
•Understanding of business and value chains and experience in working with producer organizations and/or factories as well as farmers;
•Familiarity with smallholder finance and credit issues;
•Portfolio of available financial literacy training curricula is a plus;
•Strong verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa language required and English;
•Ability to interact culturally, linguistically, and diplomatically with diverse internal and external individuals required;
•Strong organizational and logistical skills to manage training agendas and related travel in a time sensitive manner required;
•Knowledge of and commitment to environmental and socio-economic issues and sustainability practices; and
•Ability and willingness to travel nationally as needed for consultancy

Job Description


This position will support Rainforest Alliance’s “Cocoa Revolution-High Yielding Climate-Smart cocoa farms” project by providing training on financial literacy and farmer business skills to local trainers and lead farmers in the two regions of the project (North Kolaka and North Luwu); and by providing follow up, coaching and support to all the projects’ training activities in the region the position is based.


Position Summary:
The project, funded by MCA-I and the private sector, is led by a consortium of Rainforest Alliance, Olam and GrowCocoa, and seeks to contribute to poverty reduction and climate mitigation and adaptation by incentivizing cocoa smallholders to adopt best land use management and business practices. These practices intend to support farmers increase their net cocoa income and household income stability; establish long-term commercial partnerships; reduce land-based greenhouse gas emissions; and increase carbon sequestration.


This position will be based in one of the two project regions and will coordinate closely with the Manager, Business Training, with the Field Coordinator, Cocoa, who will be based in the other project region, and with the project’s M&E associate.


Responsibilities:
• Support the “Cocoa Revolution-High Yielding Climate-Smart cocoa farms” project team in the design of the training system, training tools and training roll-out program, in close coordination with the Business Training Manager;
•Implement the delivery of the training program, focused on sustainable agriculture and the SAN Standard and climate smart agriculture, in both regions;
•Disseminate information and socialize about Rainforest Alliance Certification in both regions;
•Implement the delivery of the training program, focused on business skills and financial literacy, in both regions;
•Provide on-going support, training and coaching to lead farmers and Olam trainers on farmer business skills and financial literacy topics in both regions, help them with difficulties, discuss learning and provide further information, to maintain the quality of content;
•Ensure proper follow up, training, coaching and support to all the project’s training activities in the region where the position is based, through collecting monitoring project compliance data, proposing and discussing changes with the project team, and by implementing changes in the training program as needed;
•Exchange experiences across Rainforest Alliance and improve methodologies and tools used in the financial literacy component;
•Support communication with local stakeholders and government;
•Support communication efforts about the project, by contributing with blogs, success stories, pictures etc; and;
•Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
•First-hand knowledge of the concepts of farm management, financial literacy and farmer business skills;
•Minimum 2 years relevant experience;
•Understanding of business and value chains and experience in working with cocoa producer group (CPG) and/or factories as well as farmers; knowledge of the cocoa sector preferred;
•Familiarity with smallholder finance and credit issues;
•Portfolio of available financial literacy training curricula and business plan is a plus;
•Strong verbal and written communication skills in Bahasa language and English required;
•Strong organizational and logistical skills to manage training agendas and related travel in a time sensitive manner required;
•Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to operate efficiently with trainers, farmers, donor representatives and/or company executives;
•Administrative efficiency, with ability to track project progress and prepare timely reports, and competence in main computer software programs; and;
•Willingness and ability to travel up to 30 percent of time, nationally

Tetra Tech ARD is currently accepting expressions of interest for the Landscape Spatial Planning & GIS Specialist (STTA), Palangka Raya based, on our USAID LESTARI project. USAID’s LESTARI project supports the Government of Indonesia to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and conserve biodiversity in carbon rich and biologically significant forest and mangrove ecosystems.


Job Summary: The objective of this assignment is to ensure that recommendations developed under the IFACS SEA‐LEDS and LCP processes are adequately integrated into relevant district and provincial spatial plans and development plans in order to clearly clarify commitments for HCV and HCS conservation and thus reduce future GHG emissions. S/he will also work with relevant government agencies to prepare and roll‐out SDIs as well as spatial data repositories at the district and provincial levels. Further, the s/he supports various Katingan-Kahayan landscape technical teams to conduct analysis and prepare maps that go into CCA and other relevant task for conservation co-management, monitoring and evaluation. In addition it also manages internal spatial data in accordance with the applicable standards and close collaboration with provincial & districts agencies related with spatial data management.


Requirements include previous experience in forest, natural resources, or development spatial planning, preferably with experience in climate change issues in Indonesia; familiarity with USAID procedures and regulations; and demonstrated ability to play collegial and leadership roles working on multi-disciplinary teams. University degree in related field required.

To advocate and promote the rights of children, Terre des Hommes Netherlands organises media campaigns to raise awareness, conducts research into the scale and nature of abuse and exploitation as well as lobbying for attention and change. The organisation follows and seeks to influence policy makers on local, national and international levels to adopt, ratify, maintain and enforce legislation to prevent child exploitation and to protect victims of such practices.


Structure of the organisation and position within the organisation
Terre des Hommes uses a matrix business model to structure its organisations. ICT driven innovation is at the heart of the organisation. A Thematic Programme Manager is in charge of leading, implementing and monitoring the CSEC Programme in Asia. This Thematic Programme Manager reports hierarchically to the Head of Programmes in The Hague and functionally to the Regional Representative in Asia. The Technical Expert CSEC works within the Technical Expertise Unit (TEU), will advise on the design, the implementation and the evaluation of the Asia CSEC Programme through research and advocacy, and reports hierarchically to the Head of the Technical Expertise Unit and functionally to the Thematic Programme Manager CSEC and works closely with the Regional Finance & Administration Manager, and Regional Marketing & Communication Officer. The TEU will work closely together with the Programme Implementation Unit (PIU) to achieve the strategic goals of Terre des Hommes Netherlands. Terre des Hommes Netherlands believes in building expertise and sharing knowledge.


Objective of the position
Terre des Hommes has the ambition to become the Centre of Excellence Against Child Exploitation. The Technical Expert on Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in Asia will profile Terre des Hommes Netherlands as an expert organisation in the fight against it.


Specific Objectives:
– To deliver technical information (papers, track records, best practices and lessons learnt) to the Asia CSEC Programme of Terre des Hommes Netherlands, thus translating the organisational Theory of Change into concrete programmes and activities that protect children in the programme countries;
– To report hierarchically to the Head of the Technical Expertise Unit and functionally to the Thematic Programme Manager CSEC; to work closely with the Regional Representative in Asia, Head of the Technical Expertise Unit, the Regional Finance & Administration Manager, and Regional Marketing & Communication Officer to research and write high-quality funding proposals for a myriad of donors;
– To realise a strong linkage between programme, country or thematic level outcomes and research and advocacy;
– To review the technical approaches and provide evidence-based input for programme development;
– To lead the policy influencing and advocacy efforts in the region, by developing, disseminating and facilitating the use of advocacy tool-kits and sharing information on local, regional and global advocacy initiatives and to maintain strategic links with key duty bearers and stakeholders such as governmental bodies, regional bodies, UN agencies, INGOs and other local NGOs/CSOs, by identifying collaborative and/or networking opportunities for Terre des Hommes Netherlands;
– To build upon the profile of Terre des Hommes Netherlands as an expert on Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children in Asia, and occasionally Africa, Europe, and The Americas, by participating in relevant networks and presenting our work at relevant forums and conferences;
– To provide updated evidence-based information for proposals and possible donors;
– Related PMEasy roles: senior contributor for design and conceptualisation of programs and senior implementer for reporting and managing of programs on content related to the CSEC expertise vested in the job description; and
– The TEU members are responsible for the quality, monitoring and execution of the research agenda as agreed in the PMEasy programs.


Child Protection specific objectives
– To lead the continuous assessment of child protection needs and gaps in the region in order to ensure that these are appropriately reflected in project strategies and interventions; and
– To identify new trends and developments in the area of child exploitation, particularly in relation to the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children.

Organizational Context
The Japanese Red Cross Society (JRCS) has long-continued relationship with the Indonesian Red Cross Society (PMI) and cooperates in the field of CBFA, Water & Sanitation, Volunteer Capacity Improvement and Exchange, Health Facility Construction, Integrated Community Based Risk Reduction (ICBRR), Capacity Building, Rehabilitation, etc.
ICBRR program in Banten province was one of the main activities supported by the JRCS from August 2012 to September 2015. It has been implemented in the collaboration with PMI NHQ, Chapter, Branches, Local Government Units and communities to bring communities in 6 villages in Banten Province to be resilient to disasters, climate changes, and health related risks.


After the completion of the above ICBRR project, JRCS and PMI have agreed to develop a New ICBRR that focuses on the risk of the Earthquake and Tsunami up to March 2020, considering the growing risks that expose Indonesia. At this moment, the concept paper has been developed and field assessment will be conducted in 3 PMI Chapters, 6 PMI Branches and 8 Communities to identify the target areas based on the final project preparation timeline. The main objective of the ICBRR is to strengthen the capacity of PMI and community including the development of the network with local stakeholder. An integrated approach will be inserted into the project to reach out the target. PMI NHQ has initiated to involve all the sectors such as DM, Health, OD, Volunteer and Youth, and Planning Divisions to enhance the project implementation.


Job Purposes
The position exists to support the Country Coordinator in ensuring the implementation of the ICBRR on Earthquake and Tsunami Programme funded by JRCS in accordance with the agreed Memorandums of Understanding and Project Agreement.


Job Duties and Responsibilities
1. Programme Management
 Support the Country Coordinator in ensuring the implementation of the JRCS funded projects (ICBRR Earthquake and Tsunami project) by PMI.
 Support PMI at all levels in the preparations of project documents such as project proposals, agreements, work plan, etc.
 Provide PMI NHQs, targeted Chapters and Branches with technical support in planning, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and implementing the ICBRR activities/other programmes.
 Maintain good relationships with PMI NHQ, Chapter, Branches and other Movement Partners, ensure that linking and learning processes of PMI within ICBRR project be captured and attend technical coordination meetings.
 Support the Country Coordinator in monitoring the narrative and financial reports of the project in close cooperation with PMI Counterparts including the Finance. Update the Country Coordinator accordingly and follow up where needed.
 Pay special attention to the timely and appropriate implementation of the mitigation projects under ICBRR.
 Support PMI NHQ, Chapter and Branches on the project reviews, evaluations and audits related to the activities.
 Strengthen the coordination and cooperation between PMI and other relevant organizations (LGU, NGOs, IFRC, ICRC and PNSs).
 Maintain good relationships with the different Divisions of PMI NHQ, Chapter and Branches, analyse their capacity and support capacity building activities.


2. Representation/ Chain of Command
 Attend the necessary meetings in the absence of JRCS Country Coordinator
 He/she will get the guidance from the JRCS country coordinator in JRCS Indonesia office, and at the same time, he/she be placed under the authority of the Director General of the Development Cooperation Division, International department of JRCS.


3. Office Secretariat duties/ Finance management
 Prepare and submit the administrative and financial documents to IFRC.
 Check the IFRC invoice and report to the JRCS NHQs on a monthly basis.
 Follow the rules and procedures of the Federation for security management and other services.
 Arrange accommodation and other transportation for the visitors from the JRCS NHQs.


4. Reporting
 Report to JRCS Country Coordinator with information regarding the progress of the programme and your activities. Report will include the following:
 A narrative monthly update in English, including the progress of the programme and your activities
 Minutes of the meetings that you attend
 A narrative report of the official travel visit/field visit


5. End of Mission Report
 Submit of the End of Mission report to JRCS NHQs when his/her mission ends.


6. Overall
 Work in close coordination with the JRCS Country Coordinator.
 Fulfil other tasks as assigned by the JRCS Country Coordinator, in particular in case of sudden disasters.


The duty station will be Jakarta, but the positions requires substantial travelling


Position Requirements
1. Degree in Social Science or relevant field is prefered.
2. At least 3-5 years of experience in development cooperation and/or humanitarian activities.
3. Proven experience with programme management including narrative and financial reporting, financial management, budget preparation and control.
4. Relevant experience and knowledge of DRR, CCA, Health and OD.
5. Experience in participatory planning and review techniques.
6. Experience in setting up and managing systematic monitoring systems.
7. Have working experience with National Society and Palang Merah Indonesia is prefered.
8. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Mother tongue Bahasa Indonesia and fluently spoken and written English.
10. Ability to work proactively.
11. Capacity building, communication and facilitation skills.
12. Practical computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)

Background: The program’s primary objective is to increase the capacity of faculty, staff, Ph.D. students and post-doctoral researchers at selected public and private higher education institutions (HEIs) in Indonesia to develop world-class research skills. Monitoring & Evaluation and Learning Advisor (Full time position)
The Monitoring & Evaluation and Learning Advisor will be responsible for monitoring and evaluation of project activities as a whole, including measuring the increase of capacity development of HEIs, and the impact capacity development activities has on organizational performance.


Job Responsibilities:
• Monitor and Evaluate project activities as a whole including PMP finalization, review and revision (annually);
• Review and support analysis of USAID standard indicators, custom program indicators, and other relevant performance indicators;

The Terrestrial Program Director is a senior level position that has strong technical and management responsibility for the CI Indonesia portfolio on conservation and development program encompassing biodiversity, forestry, climate change and green economic development. Project Development and Implementation. Provide technical support to existing carbon projects within the region and ensure that project results meet CI and project donor quality standards and expectations and that these projects are progressing on schedule.


Policy Development. Ensure legal and policy feasibility assessments are completed for SLP and related programs.


Capacity Building and Partnership. Facilitate and train CI-I Sumatra and Papua program managers and other CI-I senior staff to develop and maintain transparent advisory partnerships governments and relations with local private sector and civil society partners on aspects related to climate change initiatives and carbon projects.


Assist in coordinating multidisciplinary and team approach to implementing terrestrial programs with climate change, improved livelihoods, private sector engagement, and biodiversity conservation components. Communicate climate change program outcomes and implementation, evaluation, and adjustment needs and support CI-I terrestrial program Senior Management Team (SMT) and their direct reports and provide leadership needed to work together as a team to achieve them.


Actively involved in fundraising, strategic planning, partnerships, liaison with other agencies and partners. Periodically review available literature and other sources of information, including global and region specific materials, and keep CI-I offices informed of trends and issues related to climate change in the region/sub-region.

II. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE


Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.


Under the direct supervision of the IOM Indonesia Counter-Trafficking and Labour Migration National Project Coordinator (NPC) and under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission IOM Indonesia, the incumbent will provide assistance in the implementation of IOM Indonesia’s Countertrafficking and Labour Migration projects.


III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES


1. Provide specialized assistance in planning and implementation of the on-going IOM Indonesia’s counter-trafficking and labour migration projects; identify and analyse potential implementation issues; as well as assist in planning and designing of activities.
2. Prepare draft donor report and other reporting documents and coordinate with relevant IOM offices on reporting matters (including report submission) as well as on any other request for project amendment and extension if needed.
3. Assist the NPC with quality control of all project deliverables both content and format-wise, assure timely and complete donor reporting including financial reporting and budget monitoring for all counter-trafficking and labour migration on-going projects.
4. Identify potential project ideas in relation to counter-trafficking and labour migration related issues and provide assistance in the development of project proposal in coordination with IOM Indonesia’s Project Development Office and Finance Unit.
5. Maintain strategic liaison with local and international state and non-state actors including private sector for on-going and future counter-trafficking and labour migration project activities.
6. Assist NPC to monitor allocation of resources, both human and financial and other day to day operations, pertinent to CT/LM project implementation as proposed adjustments as necessary.
7. Assist the NPC with additional cross-cutting project implementation tasks, as follows:
a. Undertake representational duties in project-related functions (workshops, seminars,
coordination meetings, etc.) on behalf of NPC, as required. Draft minutes of any meetings or event attended.
b. Ensure meeting minutes and monitoring reports are filed, and that all project files are
maintained and kept up-to-date.
c. Undertake in-country duty travel related to project implementation, monitoring, assessment
and problem-solving, as requested.
d. Provide assistance in drafting letters of correspondence, etc as necessary.
