Abt Associates, a mission-driven, global leader in research and program implementation in the field of international development, seeks qualified candidates for an upcoming USAID-funded climate change adaptation program in Indonesia. The objective of the program is to improve climate and disaster resilience in Indonesia working at national, provincial and local levels, including working directly with communities, local organizations and the private sector. The program will focus on building capacity for integrating disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation into development planning. Successful candidates will be fluent in both English and Bahasa. They will also have a demonstrated ability to work and coordinate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Operations Manager Opportunity

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or similar field.Minimum of four years of experience providing support for USAID-funded projects or organizations.Experience managing or overseeing donor-compliant procurement, subcontracts, budgeting, financial reporting, accounting, personnel processes, and human resources systems.Strong understanding of USAID policies and regulations related to financial management, financial reporting, procurement processes, and subcontract and grant management.

Monitoring & Evaluation Specialist Opportunity

Qualifications:

An advanced degree in environmental sciences, planning, business, economics, or related field.Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation of donor-funded projects in South East Asia required, Indonesia experience preferred, USAID experience preferred.Experience with climate change adaptation or disaster risk reduction projects strongly preferred.Experience in knowledge sharing with government stakeholders desired.

Regional Coordinator Opportunity

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, planning, business, economics, or related field.Minimum of four years of experience providing support for donor-funded projects or organizations.Experience with community mobilization and collaborating with local governments and civil society groups in Indonesia required.Experience with disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, or related activities required.

Communications Specialist Opportunity

Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in communications, environmental sciences, journalism, marketing, or related field.Minimum of three years of experience providing support for donor-funded projects or organizations.Experience developing communications plans for a variety of stakeholder groups, creating messaging and materials for community action, and implementing communications strategies highly preferred.Exceptional writing and English skills essential.Experience working with disaster risk management, climate change adaptation, or related activities preferred.Experience working in Indonesia preferred.

Indonesia: CHIEF OF PARTY, CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION AND DISASTER RISK REDUCTION PROJECT

Engility Corporation, building on IRG’s legacy in international development, seeks an experienced Chief of Party (COP) for an anticipated USAID-funded project in Indonesia. The goals of the project are to support the Government of Indonesia’s efforts to integrate disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation into core development plans and investments; strengthen the resilience of communities to the effects of natural disasters and climate change; strengthen the development and delivery of key climate information services; and provide technical support to other USAID projects in mainstreaming climate and disaster resilience into their activities.

Please note this is a five-year, long-term opportunity in Indonesia.

Chief of Party (COP) Responsibilities:

The Chief of Party will provide overall technical, administrative, and financial management leadership; prepare, review and monitor contract reporting and deliverables; oversee the recruitment and engagement of technical staff; liaise with the Engility home office, relevant USAID personnel, and project partners; and provide technical implementation expertise as necessary to project components.

MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of 10 years of experience as a senior manager on donor-funded projects, including projects in Indonesia. Experience managing Climate Change Adaptation or Disaster Risk Reduction projects strongly preferred.Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders including civil society organizations, private sector representatives, local communities, and national and local governments.Advanced degree in environmental sciences, policy and or planning or a related field.Fluency in English required; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia preferred.

This is a contingent position based on contract award and client funding.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia preferred.
