Garuda adalah nama burung tunggangan Dewa Wisnu dalam legenda pewayangan. Pada tahun 2007, maskapai ini bersama dengan maskapai Indonesia lainnya, dilarang menerbangi rute menuju Eropa karena kejadian yang menimpa Garuda Indonesia Penerbangan 200[1]. Setahun kemudian, maskapai ini menerima sertifikasi IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) dari IATA, yang menunjukkan Garuda Indonesia telah memenuhi standar keselamatan penerbangan Internasional. Pada 1 Juni 2010, Garuda Indonesia melakukan pembukaan kembali rute Amsterdam yang di tutup pada tahun 2004 dengan pesawat Airbus A330-200 dengan kapasitas sebanyak 222 penumpang (36 Kursi Business Class dan 186 Kursi Economy Class) dengan perhentian di Dubai ini membuat Garuda Indonesia, mulai menunjukkan ketertarikannya dalam menggarap rute ke Eropa secara masif seperti yang terjadi pada abad 20 yang lalu dan saat itu juga, Garuda mendapatkan penghargaan dari Skytrax yaitu World’s most Improved Airline atas langkah Garuda yang dipimpin oleh Emirsyah Satar dalam merombak maskapai nasional tersebut.

Responsibility:

Control and evaluate all Security Management System elements
Provide Aviation Security training for all personnel involved in the

Survey, Inspection, Testing and Internal Audit both the domestic and
international stations.
Conducting threat assessments and the ability to act in case of illegal
disturbances (act of unlawful interference) on Garuda Indonesia flight
operations, preparing the Contingency Plan to anticipate and deliver the
level of threat to BC. Aviation Security to set up additional security
measures during the period of increased threats and high risk and / or
critical flight route following and participating in the activities of
the Emergency as a GO Team.
