Hivos is a Dutch non-governmental organization guided by

humanist values. It aims at structural poverty alleviation with

a strong focus on civil society building and sustainable

economic development. Hivos provides financial support for

local NGO’s, is active in networking, lobbying and exchanging

knowledge and expertise. For its Southeast Asia Regional Office

in Jakarta, Hivos seeks qualified Indonesian candidates for the

position of:



Title : Junior Programme Officer OPEN-MFS



Duty Station : Jakarta, Indonesia



Duration : April – December 2015



Report to : Coordinator/Senior Business Development Officer(s)

Functional context :



The Junior Programme Officer OPEN is under supervision of and

reports to both the Coordinator/Senior Business Development

Officer OPEN TA FoE and Coordinator/Senior Business Development

Officer OPEN WA SR.



The Junior Programme Officer OPEN-MFS is assisting the

management of Hivos portfolio for the OPEN programme,

especially for the violence against women, women leadership,

good governance, freedom of expressions and pluralism

components.



The Junior Programme Officer OPEN-MFS works closely with OPEN

program team, Senior Business Development Officer(s) OPEN,

Finance Officer and Operations Manager.



Roles and responsibilities:



A.Programme Management Support


  1. Managing the partnership with a small number of civil

    society organizations working on violence against women, women

    leadership, good governance, freedom of expressions and

    pluralism including performing monitoring and evaluation.

  2. Assisting studies or researches for the development of

    Hivos’ OPEN programme, including performing desk reviews.

  3. Organizing workshops, meetings, trainings, and the design

    and printing of publications as necessary.


B. Project Administration


  1. Assisting the Programme Officers/ Senior Program

    Development Manager in processing proposals leading to

    rejection or taking into proper assessment procedures.

  2. Assisting the preparation of all necessary documents and

    administrative handlings for new outgoing contractual

    commitments for partner organizations and consultants according

    to existing procedures (rejection letters, organisation

    assessments, project summary and organisation descriptions,

    entrance of data in project administration, contract letter and

    cover letter to partners).

  3. Assisting the Program Officers/ Senior Program Development

    Managers in maintaining existing partners include entering data

    to the project administration software.

  4. Processing of annual progress reports, drafting the report

    to be reviewed by Program Officer/ Manager and informing

    partners on the outcome.

  5. Monitoring the timeliness of report submission from

    partners.


Knowledge, experiences and competencies :


  • Minimum 3 years working experience in Civil Society

    Organizations or familiar with development works.

  • Excellent knowledge of development issues with emphasis on

    violence against women, women leadership, good governance and

    freedom of expressions. Sufficient knowledge on pluralism.

  • Good understanding of and strong affinity with civil

    society, in particular with non-governmental organizations.

  • Strong administrative and communication skills,

    particularly proficiency of writing in English.

  • A good team worker.

  • Prior experience in grant making will be regarded as an

    asset.

  • IT literate.
