Product Sustaining Manager Job

Description

Develops, implements and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the manufacture or fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assemblies. Interfaces with design engineering in coordinating the release of new products. Estimates manufacturing cost, determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines. Maintains records and reporting systems for coordination of manufacturing operations.

1. Write specifications and contracts for new automation equipment.
2. Evaluate and approve designs for new stamping dies and automated equipment.
3. Investigate and recommend new manufacturing methods and technologies.
4. Reduce costs when possible.
5. Improve quality.
6. Provide technical assistance for fabrication and assembly process problems.

Experience:
This position requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience

Education: Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Certification(s):
Travel: 10 - 30%
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel small and medium sized components. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and to lift weight or exert force up to 50 pounds. The employee in this position works in an environment where they may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, there is a risk of electrical shock, and there is vibration. The employee may be required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals, may be subject to higher noise levels, or work near moving mechanical parts.
