Senior Project Manager, Indonesia (6 months Maternity Cover) | ReliefWeb




The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is driven by

the vision of a world without malnutrition. GAIN is a Swiss

based international organization that mobilizes public-private

partnerships and provides financial and technical support to

deliver nutritious foods to those people most at risk of

malnutrition. The organization is delivering improved nutrition

to an estimated 700 million people in more than 30 countries,

half of whom are women and children.



****Senior Project Manager, Indonesia (6 months Maternity

Cover)****



The Senior Project Manager will report to the Country Manager.

S/he will ensure that the interventions by the different

executing agencies are as per work plans and that their

activities are well coordinated amongst one another, so that

overall project milestones and goals are met. S/he will be

expected to provide technical support on as required.



S/he will supervise two direct reports who will be part of the

Maternal Infant Young Child Nutrition (MIYCN) team that will

oversee project implementation by the executing agencies. This

will include working with all levels of government, civil

society, private sector and academia to facilitate a supportive

stakeholder environment in close coordination with the Country

Manager.



Responsibilities



Project Management


  • Closely monitor the implementation of the individual work

    plans of the various components of the Baduta project.

  • Foster strong collaboration between implementing agencies

    by facilitating regular meetings

  • Accountable for the overall Baduta project management and

    timely delivery against plan of the Project, reporting and

    responsibility for technical and financial documentation for

    all GAIN, donor and Government of Indonesia requirements.

  • Monitors the project budget, checks documentation submitted

    by executing agents and recommends disbursement of funds.

  • Responsible for timely convening, facilitation and

    associated documentation of the project. Responsible for

    identification and drafting of Terms of Reference for planned

    and ad hoc requests for technical assistance.

  • Ensure timely flow of project-related information between

    project partners, Country Manager and GAIN Directors as is

    relevant to successful project implementation and the good

    standing of GAIN’s brand and Country Office.

  • Work closely with the Senior Technical Specialist and the

    MLR team to ensure that the Impact Evaluation Consortium

    coordinates their work with the Program Delivery team.

  • Visits the field regularly to ensure that project progress

    is on track and to design and implement risk mitigation plans

    if required.


Demand Creation and Delivery



· Responsible for coordinating between HQ and the communication

agency for implementing the communications strategy and

associated reporting.


  • Educate and influence key opinion leaders, medical

    professionals and Associations on the importance of increasing

    uptake of fortified foods by pregnant women and children 6-24

    months.


Policy and Advocacy / Stakeholder Management


  • Collaborates with Country Manager, GAIN Director’s and the

    P&A global team to mobilize civil society, private sector

    and community networks to align with the Scaling Up Nutrition

    (SUN) movement.

  • Represents GAIN at project review meetings with the

    government and donor, technical groups and seminars /

    conferences and facilitating alignment with key stakeholders.

  • Advocate for the GAIN model with other potential

    stakeholders and donors.


Team management


  • In consultation with the Country Manager, review the team

    progress and performance.

  • Motivate and manage the team and provide support as

    necessary to ensure that they are able to achieve their goals.


Experience


  • Minimum of ten years of experience including strong project

    management.

  • Existing network in Indonesia is a plus

  • Demonstrated success in managing multi-disciplinary teams

    in time-bound programs.

  • Strong understanding of public health required.

  • Experience of delivering an integrated MIYCN/MCH program

    highly desirable.

  • Experience working in multi stakeholders/community level.

Education


  • Degree in nutrition, food science, health or a suitable

    equivalent is required.

  • Diploma or equivalent certification in project management

    or business administration is highly desirable


Other requirements


  • Fluent written and verbal English. Bahasa Indonesia is a

    plus.

  • A willingness and ability to travel in challenging

    environments
