Health Assistant


Job Description


CWS is an international relief, development, and refugee assistance agency that has been operating in Indonesia for over forty years. CWS works with partners to eradicate hunger and poverty and to promote peace and justice around the world.


CWS is the implementing partner for aUNHCR-funded urban refugee program in Jakarta that provides protection, access to basic services (health, education, psychosocial support) and capacity building to vulnerable refugees and asylum seekers living in the Greater Jakarta area.


I. JOB SUMMARY : The Health Assistant position is required to provide an administrative support to the health service program. The incumbent is expected to assist the Senior Program Officers-Health in maintaining health database drafting reports on project activities and reporting as needed.


II. RESPONSIBILITY & TASKS


1. Manage Administration of Health Program in Jakarta


• Assisting The Senior Health Program Officer in preparing procurement of the medical supplies and kit first aid purpose.
• Assisting the Senior Health Program Officer in keeping the stock records of the medical supplies and kit first aid purpose.
• Assist the preparation of draft of contracts/agreements for partnership with nominated Hospitals and PUSKESMAS in coordination with Senior Health Program Officer and Senior Operations OfficerMaintain and update database of the refugees concerning their medical and health related issues.
• Assist the Senior Health Program Officer in preparing the formal/informal meetings, special events and trainings related to health issues.


2. Manage Documentation and Report


• Responsible to maintain, update and compile routine project documentation including payment requests/financial receipts of medical assistance and first aid services received from the refugees.
• Responsible to log and file all health program paperwork/reports and other related document.
• Assist the Senior Program Officer Health to provide information/data and reports as requested.
• Making sure that Invoices from Hospital arrive in timely matter, logged, and distribute the invoices to Finance Unit
• Follow up the billing from referral Hospitals related to the project


3. Others


• Do other tasks related to the PURE project implementation as requested by the Health Program Officers and Program Manager.


III. REQUIREMENTS :


• Degree in Business Administration, Public Health or other relevant field.
• Ability to work in a cultural and gender-sensitive manner, respecting diversity in its all forms, including religious minorities, socio-economic situation, sexual orientation and ethnicity, etc;
• Minimum two years experience in administrative/financial issues concerning health program, community development or related field.
• Ability to interact and communicate with wide range of stakeholders (NGO networks, government institutions and refugees)
• Positive and professional attitude, able to organize, maintain composure and prioritize work under pressure, work overtime when necessary and be able to coordinate multiple tasks
• Works well in and promotes teamwork, comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
• Possess computer skills, including internet-based communication/ and various office applications (Microsoft Words, Excel and Power Point).
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is essential. Knowledge of Dari/Farsi/Arabic/Urdu will be an added advantage.
