Indonesia: Project Manager

Elva Community Engagement is looking for an experienced project manager to coordinate a pioneering democratisation project in Indonesia. The project will be implemented by Elva and the Asia Foundation and aims to promote citizen participation in local decision-making processes throughout Indonesia. To achieve this aim, Elva will develop a mobile and web platform that allows citizens to participate in surveys on local issues and to interact with local politicians to identify and address local issues of concern. The project manager will be based in Jakarta, with occasional travel to Aceh.

Duties and responsibilities:

The project manager will carry out the following tasks:

Support the conceptual design of the citizen engagement platform, based on feedback from local citizensEnsure the correct and timely implementation of all planned project activities in cooperation with Elva managementCoordinate all project activities with international and local project partnersTrain local communities in using the citizen engagement platformIdentify and develop new ways to implement Elva's services in Indonesia.Write monitoring and evaluation reports in a timely manner and according to donor requirements

Required skills and experience:

A university degree in Political Science/Sociology or IT/web development, or any discipline relevant to the above duties.Proven experience in project management, particularly through using innovative tools to achieve social impact.Ideally experience in working with local communities.Passionate about the concept of using new technologies for conflict management.Ability to develop and maintain a broad network of contacts within the social innovation sector in Indonesia.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Indonesian and English

Elva offers:
