PURPOSE:


  • Manage internal and external reporting processes and deliverables through timely and accurate reporting and governance of financial reporting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Deliver results in accordance with the Leadership Pipeline Manager of Others all four Leadership Pipeline categories: Business Results, Management and Planning Results, Leadership Results, and Customer and Relationship Results.

  • Responsible for maintenance of the global financial reporting standard and global standardized reports through coordination with the financial reporting committee, and other governance committees as necessary.

  • Responsible for ensuring filings are compliant with US GAAP and SEC regulations, in addition to XBRL requirements.

  • Responsible for the coordination of monthly management reporting in a timely and accurate manner, being responsive to management requests.

  • Responsible for accounting involvement in the preparation and review of quarterly earnings and board materials.

  • Coordinate the preparation, review and filing of the Company’s quarterly and annual SEC filings.

  • Monitor the application of accounting policies and procedures and administrative controls necessary for proper financial reporting.

  • Ensure that accounting systems and controls are adequately documented to support a Sarbanes-Oxley compliant environment over financial reporting.

  • Maintain a high-performing team, including direct reports through leadership practices (e.g. employee goal setting, delegation, and coaching, mentoring, development of others).

  • Perform special projects “overflow” work and assist with analysis of business transactions as required.

  • Develop and maintain systems and processes for the effective collection of reporting information from the sites/regions, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency to minimize work effort required and reporting errors.

  • Deliver key analysis over financial reporting including effective analysis of cash flow reporting, income statement and balance sheet changes, focused on actual vs. actual and actual vs. budget comparisons.

  • Key liaison and resource to other Finance groups for financial reporting, including Investor Relations, Business Planning, Treasury and Tax.

Qualifications

Working Conditions:


  • The position is located in the Denver corporate office.

  • Telephone calls before and/or after normal business hours are required.

  • Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.

TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum of 8 years of combined auditing and accounting/financial reporting experience

  • Big 4 accounting experience and CPA required.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC rules & regulations, executive level reporting, and internal performance management.

  • Experience with Business Planning and Consolidations (BPC) and SAP preferred.

  • Knowledge of mine accounting preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive results in a high pressure environment.

  • High level of motivation and assertive diplomacy necessary.

  • Strong ability to learn and adapt to a changing environment.
