Position Overview
The Due Diligence Analyst provides business intelligence research to support the investigative services provided by the Due Diligence and Strategic Research (DDSR) division.
Essential Job Functions
Conduct detailed investigative research and analysis focused on emerging markets to help the firm’s clients identify and understand regulatory and reputational risks before proceeding with commercial relationships. This primarily involves undertaking open source and database research for integrity and compliance due diligence, background investigations, asset traces and risk assessments.
Produce high quality and accurate written work with the ability to understand and summarize large amounts of information from diverse sources.
Form and articulate expert opinions based on analysis.
Develop an expertise in countries or region of focus.
Maintain a high level of professionalism in all areas of performance.
Provide support to clients and senior DDSR staff.
Required Skills
An excellent academic record and at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, although an interest in international affairs, politics or economics and strong commercial knowledge is essential.
Research experience using and interpreting comprehensive databases, such as LexisNexis and Westlaw, would be an asset.
Demonstrated ability to write at an academic or commercial quality level.
Commercial or academic experience with relevant market preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Candidates must possess
Strong interpersonal communication skills and clear and articulate writing ability.
Accurate and detail oriented research skills as well as an inquiring mindset.
Capacity for adaptation to a rapidly changing environment, strong personal initiative and an ability to innovate
Ability to travel if needed for certain client engagements.
Excellent written and spoken English is essential. Preference will be given to candidates with fluency in Russian, Turkish, Mandarin, Hebrew, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia, Malay, Ukrainian, Kazakh, or Urdu.
