Principal Product Manager, Growth - SF - Change.org - United States

Change.org is the world’s largest empowerment platform, used by more than 95 million people around the world to win incredible and inspiring victories on the issues they care about.

We’re an innovative business – a certified “B Corp” combining the structure of a business with a powerful sense of mission that drives our work (more about B Corps: www.bcorporation.net). Over 25 million users have signed winning petitions, including strengthening hate crimes legislation in South Africa; fighting corruption in Indonesia, Italy, and Brazil; ending the ban on gay Boy Scouts in the United States, and big wins for women’s rights in India. And we’re just getting started. Here’s a small snapshot of what was changed last year: www.change.org/2014

We love serving our incredible users, and we love our staff too. We show it with very competitive salaries, five weeks of vacation, robust maternity and parental leave, an amazing culture, free language training (if you want it), and a high impact, low-ego team that can’t wait to learn from you and teach you what they know. Here’s what you’ll do as part of our team:

As growth product manager it will be your job to

identify and build the growth levers that can help change.org increase its new

user growth trajectory.

You’ll do this by using your strong data-driven

approach to identify the highest potential areas across the product experience,

then test variants of those experiences that unlock growth.

You’ll develop a rapid pace of testing, learning,

iterating and improving – because you know that executing quickly and running

many tests in parallel is key to unlocking growth .

You’ll have a deep understanding of how social

channels – facebook, twitter, etc – work, and how best to leverage them in

pursuit of growth.

You’ll make use of your strong consumer

instincts to ensure that your testing is focused and has a high likelihood of being

successful.

However, you won’t be afraid to try things that

might be controversial, as that will sometime be the best way to uncover the

best opportunities.

You will also strive for growth that is

fundamental and core to the product and the purpose of change.org; eschewing cheap

tricks for short-term growth.

You’ll be a strong leader of your

cross-functional team, and you’ll be effective at incorporating the input and

perspective of our knowledgeable global campaigns and comms teams. And here are the skills & experience we hope you have:

Record of Results: you’ve done this kind of work

before, you can point to significant successes along the way.

Data-centricity – your approach to product and

decision-making in general starts with data.

You’re deeply curious about data and you’re adept at identifying the right

metrics, then impacting them. It’s likely (though not essential) that you have

an academic background in a quantitative field.

Creativity – you’re a wealth of ideas around

growth, and you’re anxious to implement your ideas and learn from

experimentation.

Communication Skills: You are a communicator and

enjoy presenting your ideas. You are a great listener and are able to build

consensus.

The position is located in San Francisco.

The is a full-time opportunity.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, physical disability, or length of time spent unemployed.

We are working for a world where no one is powerless, and where creating change is a part of everyday life. We’re just getting started, and we hope you’ll join us.
