Cities and Climate Intern - World Resources Institute - Washington, DC

Overview

The World Resources Institute is looking for three interns to support research and analysis on city-level greenhouse gas accounting and climate mitigation:

1) Greenhouse gas accounting methodology intern

2) Climate mitigation target analysis intern

3) Training material development intern

Responsibilities

The intern will gain experience in the following areas:

• Conducting research and literature reviews
  


• Assisting in organizing and analyzing data
  


• Drafting and editing reports
  


• Contributing to blogs
  


• Working with other WRI teams to coordinate research
  


• Organize meetings and conference calls with external WRI partners in government and civil society
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, urban studies, or related field. Post-graduate degree preferred
  


• Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  


• Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as part of a team
  


• Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner
  


• Familiarity and experience with greenhouse gas accounting and international climate agenda
  


• Proficiency in Word and Excel
  


• Highly responsible, self-motivated
  


• Extremely well organized and efficient
  

Final candidate will be required to take a writing test

Salary: This is a paid intern position with an hourly rate based on experience.

Duration: 6 months (June 2015 – December 2015)
