Global Sourcing Co-op – January 2016
Hasbro is currently recruiting enthusiastic, technically curious & creative engineering students to assist Engineers & Project Managers in the development of our products. You will learn how a toy is developed from initial concept in the U.S. to production overseas. Depending on education level, increasing experience & demonstrated ability, there will be opportunities to assume independent project &/or product design responsibility.
We also offer a unique opportunity to our students by participating in Hasbro’s Co-op EPIC group project. Co-ops work in teams to bring an idea for a Hasbro product to concept stage. This includes presenting the idea to business partners at various checkpoints in the process, and prototyping the concept for presentation.
Global Sourcing (Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering Mgmt/ Mech Eng preferred)
– Support efforts to identify, evaluate and on-board new global manufacturing partners (India, Indonesia, Mexico, Brazil..)
– Communicate with personnel in Hasbro’s RI, MA, & China offices regarding product specifications
– Prepare and distribute quote packages
– Help evaluate and analyze quotes. Prepare cost breakdown comparisons.
– Provide ongoing support to clarify product requirements with potential/new manufacturing partners.
– Help maintain global sourcing tracking spreadsheet and vendor quote lists.
– Prepare sourcing spreadsheet for bi-weekly project review meetings.
Qualifications:
Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student, 2015 graduates are not eligible for our Co-op program
Must be available to work full-time as a co-op from January 4 – June 24
Co-op assignment can be either a mandatory or optional requirement for graduation
Preference will be given to candidates with:
Completion of at least one year of study towards a BS in field of study
Project work or co-op experience in product development
Excellent communication & interpersonal effectiveness skills
Strong time/project management skills & the desire to build/expand competency in this area
Intermediate-level skills in MS Excel, Word & Outlook & web-based applications
Candidates are responsible for their own housing & transportation (FREE Parking). Hasbro headquarters in Pawtucket, RI is 1.3 mi from the South Attleboro, MA commuter rail station and we offer shuttle service.
