Indonesia: Event Organizer for SLP film screening

The Sustainable Landscapes Partnership (SLP) is an innovative public-private partnership in Indonesia that brings governments, communities, businesses, and non-governmental organizations together to develop and test new approaches to land use planning and management. It is aimed at creating sustainable agricultural economic opportunities, while maintaining natural capital and avoiding deforestation and associated greenhouse gas emissions.

PURPOSE OF THIS CONSULTANCY

SLP solutions focus on smart land use planning, improved forest management, sustainable agricultural production and green supply chains. SLP provides information and tools that partners use to make informed decisions. SLP also facilitates agreements among partners and works with them to develop and test targeted interventions. To achieve maximum impact and ensure long-term change, SLP helps partners to align these interventions with existing policies and processes at local, provincial and national levels. SLP then catalyzes replication and amplification through grants, training and toolkits.

In 2014, SLP in collaboration with Bumi Hijau production house made a film titled “Building a Green Future”. The film presents the rich biodiversity and lush panorama of Mandailing Natal and South Tapanuli, North Sumatera, and raises awareness on the current development and environmental challenges in North Sumatera. The film was launched on national TV through the Bumi Hijau TV network in October and November 2014 and @America in Jakarta in November 2014.

OBJECTIVES OF THIS CONSULTANCY

SLP requires a subcontractor to organize film screenings for both the SLP films and the Nature is Speaking film series in up to 40 venues in SLP’s focus areas including schools, universities, community centers, and other locations to be identified by the subcontractor

Raise awareness of conservation and sustainable development issues among local communities, especially youth;Bring environmental issues closer to local stakeholders through interactive dialogues about key issues;Spark discussion among local communities about actions they can take to manage environmental issues in their homes and community.

Deliverables

List of venues (name, address, phone number, contact person, GPS points) and size and profile of target audience to be reached at each school and community center venue in Jakarta, Medan, TapUt, TapSel, and Madina;Schedule of dates for film screenings at each school and community center venue at a minimum of 40 locations spread out from Jan 10 – June 15, 2015 venue in Jakarta, Medan, TapUt, TapSel, and Madina.Draft and final agenda for each event at each school and community center40 film screening events to screen the “Building a Green Future” and “Nature is Speaking” film series at each school and community center in Medan, TapUt, TapSel and Madina.Media placement plan for Building a Green Future and Nature is Speaking series in Garuda InFlight, AirAsia InFlight, Cinema 21 theaters, Cinemaxx theaters and Blitzmegaplex theaters.

LEVEL OF EFFORT

This consultancy will take place for a 6-month period between January 10, 2015 and June 15, 2015, and will require travel to the SLP field sites in North Sumatera.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Minimum 10 years of experiences in event organizing, in Jakarta and North Sumatera.

· Familiar working with NGO/Donor organization.

· Strong concept in interactive and public events

· Good networking with local government, NGO and community based organizations.

· Fluency in Indonesia and English (required).

· Available during the period of service;

· Based in Jakarta or Medan and willing to travel and work in SLP field sites in North Sumatera.
