On-Site Program Coordinator (OPC) - CISabroad - Northampton, MA


CISabroad is an education abroad organization providing innovative education programs that broaden academic perspectives, promote global awareness, and encourage personal development while laying the foundation for participants to become engaged world citizens.


The Customized Faculty­Led Programs Team develops international faculty­led programs for colleges and universities across the United States. We provide the logistics and staff support to facilitate the international course, allowing the faculty member to focus on the academic portion of the trip.​These programs vary in duration, location, travel and activities based on the needs of the institution.


Position Title : On­Site Program Coordinator (OPC)


Job Description & Offer
This position is a part time, contract position, functioning as part of the Customized Faculty­Led Programs team and reports to the Customized Faculty­Led Programs Coordinator who specializes in the designated country. The primary role of this position is to facilitate the in­country implementation of the assigned customized program and provide safety/emergency support as needed. During the program, the On­Site Program Coordinator is responsible for managing the day­to­day logistics of the assigned customized program and providing in­country support to both the leading faculty and CISabroad students. Using personal travel experience and language knowledge, the On­Site Program Coordinator will help create a program environment that is safe and conducive to cultural engagement. ​This position is contracted for the duration of the program.


Specific Duties
Pre­program:


  • Complete required online training prior to program

  • Meet with Program Coordinator to review program

  • Meet with Faculty and Program Coordinator to get acquainted and review program

  • Skype into student pre­departure to say hello (5 minutes)

  • Check program logistics and (possibly) make reservations

During program:


  • Provide in­country orientation for faculty and students

  • Facilitate all logistical aspects of the program including transportation, planned excursions and tours, group meals, and accommodations

  • Manage group on­site funds, payments and receipts (when applicable)

  • Travel with group to all scheduled destinations and events

  • Serve in an on­call capacity, facilitating emergency protocol if necessary

  • Implement La Vida Local and other cultural components

  • Take photos daily

  • Create a positive and flexible environment throughout the program

  • Provide 24/7 full program support

Post­program:


  • Upload photos to the company photo sharing website

  • Send in Student Evaluations

  • Send in Wells Fargo Card, receipts and expense report

  • De­brief with Program Coordinator

  • Complete OPC Evaluation

Qualifications


  • Ability to represent CISabroad with enthusiasm, integrity, accuracy, and in the spirit of its mission

  • Interest in working with college students and faculty in an international environment

  • Organized, professional, energetic, flexible, independent, creative

  • Experience managing groups, work with American students preferred

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • International study, intern, work, and/or volunteer experience

  • Experience traveling in the placement location

  • Host language conversation skills preferred

  • Bachelor​’​s degree and minimum of two years work experience or some graduate school

Stipend and Benefits
Airfare (if necessary), transportation to program location, accommodation (if necessary), and all in­country travel expenses will be covered for the duration of the program. A daily stipend (in US Dollars) will be paid for services rendered, as well as a daily food stipend. Additional compensation is commensurate based on the program length and location.
