My client is a specialist manufacture of wind turbines who is currently working on a number of new projects with key clients across Europe. With these key projects already well underway, the company is keen to increase their skilled engineering base to meet these project's needs. As a result there is an urgent requirement for an Automation Engineer with experience in the design and development for composite materials. As the world's leading supplier of wind power solutions, they have installed more than 39,000 wind turbines in 63 countries. Role Description
The Automation, Control and Simulation team is responsible for automating, optimising and reducing cost of the blade manufacturing process with technology, simulation and programming. As a member of the team you will play an important role in shaping up the future direction of wind turbine technology.
Responsibilities and tasks include:
Engineer (Automation Equipment Tasks in Projects);
Specialisation in automated (machine) solutions (i.e. overseeing design of equipment from Cartesian machines, to Robotic solutions to handling equipment to assembly jigs) for component manufacture and assembly for the industry;
Documented design specifications and detail design deliveries;
Concept Development, sourcing /construction of Tools, IDOV/DFSS based;
Sub project management according to time plan, cost and specifications;
Delivery based on time plan, cost and specifications. (PEI) Project based;
Automation Competence and capability development based on technology roadmap;
Supplier management in the design of automated equipment under product development projects e.g. PDR, CDR and PAT, SAT;
CAPEX projects implementation;
Automation and manufacturing development;
Support to PBU, Excellence projects implementation;
Person Specification
BSc, MSc in Engineering or a number of years' experience - Mechanical, Aerospace, Composite;
Project delivery of entire system of automation equipment experience e.g. gantry, cartesian machines, robot systems, handling equipment to end customer (production);
Engineering project management experience;
Well-rounded engineering knowledge;
Proven track record of creative approach and innovation;
Good understanding of structures and composites;
Excellent analytical skills, awareness of Root Cause Analysis/D-FMECA Techniques;
High standard of technical documentation;
Excellent communication and time management;
Supplier management;
