Temporary Design Engineer...
A temporary contract to start as soon as possible for a SolidWorks expert who specialises in Injection moulding for approximately 3 month contract.
The role will be working as part of the development team with specific responsibility for rapidly evolving the design of the plastic components to ensure they can be moulded to specification. It will involve working very closely with moulding suppliers to get in speculative component samples for inspection and assembly and to ensure the supplier is capable of building plastic components to specification at production volumes.
Successful candidates will have the following:-
Experienced SolidWorks userExperienced in using mould flow simulationsExperienced in plastic moulding and material selectionProven understanding of fundamental manufacturing principlesTolerance stack-up analysis
If you also have the following it would be useful:-
Proven understanding of mechanical engineering issues associated with high precision/tight tolerance designsProven experience of using finite element methods for stress and thermal characterisationAppreciation of high volume manufacturing (100,000 units per year)Experience of using PDM systems for engineering change control
