Support Engineer...

GML Networking Technologies are an ICT company based in Kirby Cross, Essex.

We provide a wide range of services to an International client base, including -

Telephone, remote and on-site support
Maintenance and support contracts
Windows and Linux Servers systems
Network infrastructure development and maintenance
Hardware quotations, supply, pre-configuration and installation
Domain names, Internet services and hosting, Virtual Servers
Leased line, DSL and telephony services
Media design services
Bespoke software development

We are currently looking to expand our technical team, and are seeking an Engineer from the Colchester area with experience of some of the following technologies -

DOS, TCP/IP networking
Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange Server, SQL Server, Sharepoint
CentOS (or other variants of Linux or Unix), Samba, LDAP, MySQL, Nagios, Asterisk
VMware vSphere, ESXi
Windows, Microsoft Office
MySQL, PHP, Plesk, Magento, Actinic
VB.Net, Visual Basic, Microsoft Access
Android/Apple/Blackberry phones and tablets 

Certifications within the industry would be highly advantageous.

We operate in shifts, from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. Our full-time employees are contracted to work a nine hour shift (including an hour for lunch), five days per week.

Successful applicants will be expected to assume a variety of roles on a daily basis, due to the reactive and unpredictable nature of our business. These roles may be undertaken at our workplace, our client's premises, or our employee's homes, as deemed appropriate for the task in hand.

A current full UK driving license and your own transport are pre-requisites for this position.

This position would ideally suit -

An experienced Engineer looking to work alongside like-minded IT professionals
A recent University graduate looking for their first position within the industry
A self-taught Engineer with an avid interest in computer-related technology

We would look to start any applicant as a First Line Support Engineer, but with quarterly reviews an experienced and committed Engineer could be promoted to a Second Line Engineer within their first year of service.
