Our mission is bold and simple: we are connecting the unconnected. We aim to reach the next billion customers with new and innovative technology specifically designed for the needs and realities of users in emerging markets. Our software will be the most beautiful and potentially life-changing thing that they own. Design is at the heart of everything we do and we are looking for a Senior Product Designer to help us achieve our mission.

The Senior Product Designer will join our design team to make our product incredible, managing our most immediate priorities and serving as a critical link to our software development team. You know when to use the appropriate design tools at the right level of fidelity to achieve objectives set in the design and development cycle. Ideally, you have experience designing for an OS or equivalent complex systems where design approaches and considerations are very different from traditional website or app design.

You will report to the VP of Design and work with a team of designers across multiple projects in multiple locations.

Core Responsibilities:
Knit together our design and software development teams to manage our immediate and medium-term projects

Work with existing resources and guidelines to establish, extend, and evolve a cohesive and scalable design system

Effectively and efficiently turn concepts into prototypes that help validate a design approach when necessary

Deliver end-to-end designs for product features from UX to visual solutions; comfortable working with visual and production designers, but capable of delivering production-ready designs

Maintain integrity of designs through to successful implementation by collaborating with engineering to manage workflow and handoffs, track issues, conduct design QA, and fix bugs

Qualifications
