Global Payroll & HRIS Manager - NY - Change.org - United States

Change.org is the world’s largest technology platform for social change. Our goal is to empower people everywhere to start campaigns around the issues they care about, mobilize others, and work with decision makers to drive solutions.

We’re also an innovative business – a “social enterprise” and a certified B Corporation, with a business model designed to support positive social impact (more about B Corps: www.bcorporation.net).

Over 100 million people have signed petitions, and our users win nearly one victory per hour, including strengthening hate crime legislation in South Africa; fighting corruption in Indonesia, Italy, and Brazil; ending the ban on gay Boy Scouts in the United States, and big wins for women’s rights in India. And we’re just getting started. Here’s a small snapshot of why some of the 100 million people have signed Change.org petitions: youtu.be/UcT1rgZDko4

We love serving our incredible users, and we love our staff too. We show it with very competitive salaries, five weeks of vacation, robust maternity and parental leave, an amazing culture, free language training (if you want it), and a high impact, low-ego team that can’t wait to learn from you and teach you what they know.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of HR Operations and part of the global People & Talent team, the Global Payroll & HRIS Manager will lead payroll and HR systems across Change.org’s extensive global footprint. This is an amazing opportunity to help us rethink the way we approach payroll and HRIS, streamline our people data across 18 countries, and help build a well-oiled People & Talent machine as we transition from Google Docs to grown-up systems.

You will partner with a kick-ass team of HR, recruiting, finance and operations folks, and we are looking for someone who is scrappy, hilarious, and able to face the new and unexpected challenges that come with having employees all around the world in a rapidly growing company. Here’s what you’ll do as part of our team:

Process US semi-monthly payroll and monthly international payroll through our global payroll partners.

Partner with finance to reconcile general ledger reports and payroll registers.

Build out HRIS functions by adding workflows, business processes and implementing future modules.

Oversee data integrity between HR systems, company processes and Google Docs.

Manage payroll and systems documentation/instructions for employees on the company intranet.

Write advanced reports for managers and teams using the business intelligence feature in our HRIS.

Leverage Excel and Google Sheets magic to support key HR processes (EX: performance review cycles).

Process new hires, terminations and employee changes in global HR systems.

Partner with global payroll partners to research and resolve international payroll tax queries.

Work with our payroll vendor to set up and manage US payroll tax accounts.

Research and recommend systems/upgrades to continually streamline HR operations. And here are the skills & experience we hope you have:

Experience processing US and non-US payroll in multiple countries.

Experience with system implementations and upgrades.

Project management, time management, and organizational skills.

Fancy Google Sheets and Excel skills.

Ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines.

Strong problem-solving skills.

A fantastic sense of humor.

This is a full-time opportunity in New York City.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, physical disability, or length of time spent unemployed.

We are working for a world where no one is powerless, and where creating change is a part of everyday life. We’re just getting started, and we hope you’ll join us.
