The Role: Senior System Administrator
Location: San Francisco, CA
You are a troubleshooter and a problem solver, passionate about all things IT, and eager to take ownership and institute scalable processes. Endless is looking for its first System Administrator who will be responsible for managing the global information technology infrastructure of our rapidly growing technology company. This person will be responsible for both internal technology as well as the infrastructure needed to support our Linux-based software products. Responsibilities:
Own and maintain our physical and virtual server client environment for storage, build infrastructure, and security of our data
Implement robust data backup and restoration strategies
Suggest and install our on-site hardware and software infrastructure as it grows with the company
Work with our executive team to understand our growth goals and implement the IT processes to support them
Manage the infrastructure for local and remote employees
Help us scale to the next phase by implementing the overhaul, design, and think through the right architecture for our growth
Stay up-to-date with developments and best practices to manage continuous innovation of our technology infrastructure and make recommendations for the improvement of IT processes Required Qualifications
5+ years as a Linux System Administrator
Strong problem solving and analytical skills within a complex deployment environment
Advanced scripting knowledge (Bash, Perl, Python, etc)
Experience with DHCP servers/clients, DNS, subnets, IDS/Firewalls, VLANs, VPN, and wireless security/topologies
Experience setting up and configuring web servers (e.g. NGINX or Apache)
Experience with automated configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible) Preferred Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science or related field
Experience managing physical servers as well as third-party IT services (AWS, VPS, shared hosting, DNS, etc)
Experience with Cisco IOS and/or Cisco SOHO devices
Understanding of Debian package installation from multiple sources
Able to clearly explain concepts and problems to employees and clients in non-technical terms
Experience rolling out Identity Management across a variety of services is a plus!
