PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for supporting the EVP, Strategic Development in planning and executing strategic projects and initiatives. This position’s purpose is to support the EVP, Strategic Development in managing and coordinating the Strategic Development team and external advisors, as well as engaging and collaborating with the greater Newmont Leadership Team to develop, define and build on strategic initiatives and priorities.


This is a developmental position designed to provide a unique learning experience to prepare a high performing individual for future leadership opportunities at Newmont.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


Partner closely with the EVP, Strategic Development to manage and support key areas of work to allow EVP, Strategic Development to execute highest priority initiatives.


Effectively engage and collaborate with the Strategic Development team and others across the business to develop, define and execute strategic initiatives and business priorities.


Engage across and outside of the organization to quickly connect information and people, as required to drive strategic projects, programs and initiatives.


Partner closely with the EVP, Strategic Development on all Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team material and ensure the work achieves desired outcomes.


Plan and facilitate meetings, manage work streams and capture outcomes and action items required for follow up.


Proactively manage work streams and communications with key internal stakeholders including Corporate, Regional and Executive leaders, as well as external stakeholders including financial and legal advisors.


Lead efforts to plan and develop key EVP, Strategic Development led events to achieve desired outcomes (e.g., management meetings, Board reviews, presentations, key communications).


Work directly with other Executive Leadership as directed by EVP, Strategic Development.


Engage directly with the Board of Directors as required.


As needed, coordinate due diligence processes for acquisitions or divestments at Newmont

WORKING CONDITIONS:


The position is located in the corporate office in Greenwood Village


Position may be required to travel to, and assist with, other domestic and international sites


Qualifications


TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:


Bachelor’s Degree in Business or other related field required. Master’s Degree preferred.


6-8 years business experience, with leadership experience preferred.


Applies strategic thinking to generate new thoughts and opportunities; has ability to build on strategic and innovative thoughts/ideas.


Continuously adapts to changes and effectively navigates through ambiguity; decides and acts without having the picture totally defined; appropriately changes one’s strategy in response to new information.


Drives for results – makes things happen and conveys a sense of urgency.


Previously demonstrated project/program management and analytical skills with the ability to identify and understand complex problems, make decisions, create plans and solutions, and take action.


Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with adaptability to work with people from various areas of the business and leadership levels; builds and maintains highly effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders; has a comprehensive and well-developed network.


Experience planning and executing leadership/strategic initiatives to achieve desired business outcomes.


Highly effective working at the Board of Directors level, Executive Team level and with regional leadership teams.


Strong financial analysis skills and the ability to simplify and present complex information and ideas.


Effective in preparing executive-level presentations (e.g., content development, speaking points, scripts, etc.).


Learns quickly and invests the effort and energy to learn and grow.
