Role: Recruiter

You know that hiring a team of great people isn’t about selling or convincing. It’s about exposing people’s greatest talents, matching those with empowered roles in the organization, and giving them the opportunity to use and further develop those talents. You are empathetic and organized, and you love understanding what really drives and motivates people. Ideally, you will have helped a start-up grow before and have helped scale a team.

You should care deeply about making an impact on the world, especially in the developing world. You should have strong experience conducting interviews and sourcing top talent. You should be passionate about developing an excellent team and understand the importance of culture fit since you will help shape this organization by being at the forefront of our growth.


Primary Responsibilities


Work with the director of people to manage our recruiting process to meet hiring goals across the organization, ensuring that the needed talent is hired in a timely manner


Review resumes, complete introductory calls or meetings to introduce candidates to the company, and conduct interviews and reference checks


Source top talent and establish innovative candidate sourcing strategies, especially for hard-to-fill positions; proactively build out and cultivate our network of potential future hires


Work with team leads and interviewers to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria


Welcome and onboard new staff members; ensure they are set up on our HR systems and given appropriate orientation to our company and our people


Support our director of people in building, implementing, and improving upon our hiring processes and tools


Partner with our Office Manager to ensure a positive candidate experience


Qualifications


4+ years of recruiting experience, ideally in a tech or startup environment


Strong interpersonal skills and a deep ability to understand and empathize with others


Excellent organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize actions


Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment, and to juggle several projects at once with a spirit of flexibility and positive outlook


Ability to write and communicate verbally in an effective and compelling manner


Passion for making an impact in the developing world
