HR Coordinator - SF, NY, or DC - Change.org - United States

Change.org is the world’s largest technology platform for social change. Our goal is to empower people everywhere to start campaigns around the issues they care about, mobilize others, and work with decision makers to drive solutions.

We’re also an innovative business – a “social enterprise” and a certified B Corporation, with a business model designed to support positive social impact (more about B Corps: www.bcorporation.net).

Over 100 million people have signed petitions, and our users win nearly one victory per hour, including strengthening hate crime legislation in South Africa; fighting corruption in Indonesia, Italy, and Brazil; ending the ban on gay Boy Scouts in the United States, and big wins for women’s rights in India. And we’re just getting started. Here’s a small snapshot of why some of the 100 million people have signed Change.org petitions: youtu.be/UcT1rgZDko4

We love serving our incredible users, and we love our staff too. We show it with very competitive salaries, five weeks of vacation, robust maternity and parental leave, an amazing culture, free language training (if you want it), and a high impact, low-ego team that can’t wait to learn from you and teach you what they know.

Reporting to the HR Manager for North America, the HR Coordinator will lead a number of HR support functions for more than 150 staff across five offices. We’re looking for an organized, energetic ‘people-person’ who is passionate about our mission and values and full of ideas on how to bring them alive for staff.

We are expanding our company globally, and this is a fantastic opportunity to help us scale, learn, and build your career at Change.org!

Support staff with payroll and benefits inquiries.

Manage immigration matters with external attorneys.

Provide employment verifications for North American staff when required.

Develop and manage creative ways to introduce new staff to their colleagues around the world.

Work with staff & managers to track when employees go out on leave, and provide continued support throughout process. And here are the skills & experience we hope you have:

Passion for helping to create and develop an amazing company culture.

Knack for building strong relationships and a demonstrated ability to collaborate well.

Enthusiastic willingness to help the People & Talent team with whatever is needed: we have a ton of fun ideas and need your help to make them happen!

Ability to maintain professionalism and discretion when dealing with confidential issues.

Skilled with MS Word, Excel, or Google Docs/Sheets.

Demonstrated success providing HR support to a large or distributed team.

Experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).

Strong organizational and time management skills, including prioritization and follow-through.

Self-motivated individual with a great sense of humor!

The is a full-time opportunity.

The ideal candidate will be based in SF, NY or DC.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, age, physical disability, or length of time spent unemployed.

We are working for a world where no one is powerless, and where creating change is a part of everyday life. We’re just getting started, and we hope you’ll join us.
