Newmont Mining Corporation is now accepting applications for a new greenfield operation located in Northeastern Nevada off of I-80 between Wells and West Wendover. We are seeking highly motivated employees to join our diverse team and build the Long Canyon operation from the ground up. This project has tremendous future potential, and our operating workforce will consist of approximately 260 employees. If you are selected for a pre-screen for a position you will participate in either a one-way video or automated voice interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interviews.

Purpose of this role
: To safely and efficiently perform tire replacements and repairs to provide continuous operation of vehicles and production equipment. Employees must comply with state and federal health and safety regulations, company policies and procedures and the company’s environmental compliance policy. Employees will perform other duties as directed and needed by the company to ensure optimal safe operation.
Properly and accurately brand tires
Competent in air pressure checks
Competent in tread depths and tire inspections
Properly perform small vehicle tire changes
Properly perform medium duty tire changes
Able to use computerized ordering systems
Competent in tire truck operation
Competent in tire handler operation
Competent in tire tool maintenance
Competent in mining equipment tire changes
Able to complete other general maintenance duties as assigned.
The above duties and responsibilities are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
Desired qualifications for experienced tire mechanics may include (but are not limited to):
Properly enter tire data into system and generates reporting
Properly perform tire adjustments
Effectively manage spare tire inventory
Acts as a mentor and role model
Must be able to work rotating 12-hour shifts in all-weather conditions.
Demonstrate proficiency in all requirements (internal) or equivalent experience (external).
