Administrative Coordinator I - World Resources Institute - Washington, DC

Overview

WRI’s Governance and Business Centers require an assertive, detail-oriented, and highly organized individual to provide administrative support for the Global Governance Director and the Global Business Director. This is an excellent position for someone seeking an administrative role in a respected international environment and development organization. Responsibilities will include a variety of administrative and logistical activities including scheduling, correspondence tracking, and events coordination. The Administrative Coordinator will report directly to the Global Directors.

WRI’s Global Governance and Global Business Directors work with leaders in government, business, and the non-profit community to forge alliances that further the Institute’s work; with media to spread WRI’s messages; and internally with staff on the development of programming and administration.


Responsibilities

The Administrative Coordinator’s main responsibilities will be to provide a broad variety of administrative tasks for the Global Governance Director and the Global Business Director including the following:


  • Responding to scheduling requests and managing extremely active calendars of appointments

  • Helping to monitor the Directors’ correspondence, and responding to emails and other communications

  • Providing administrative support for the development of WRI’s Africa strategy

  • Processing of invoicing and associated activities for the corporate development team.

  • Organizing meetings and taking and disseminating notes

  • Arranging complex and detailed travel plans, itineraries, and agendas

  • Completing expense reports

  • Compiling documents for travel-related meetings

  • Coordinating logistics for on-site and off-site meetings locally and internationally


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree desirable and some prior office experience required

  • Minimum 1 year of work experience required (relevant internship experience may be counted)

  • The ideal candidate is highly-organized, assertive, and detail-oriented

  • Excellent interpersonal skills are essential

  • Ability to multi-task, set priorities, plan ahead, and respond quickly to timely requests

  • Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality

  • Strong writing, database management, and proofreading skills

  • Strong computer skills including a high level of comfort with Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), web-based communications (e.g. Skype, GoToMeeting, etc.), and internet research.

  • Commitment to WRI’s mission, values, and approach

  • Must hold current US work authorization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with database software and management (e.g. Raiser’s Edge, Concurs, Cognos, TM1, etc.)

Final candidates will be required to take a writing test.

Salary : Salary is commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous, comprehensive benefits package.
