Conference Producer - Events



Not-to-be-missed opportunity for a multi-faceted Conference Manager who can emphatically impact both marketing and sponsorship sales.


Do you boast a track record of successfully producing international conferences? Can you successfully turn your hand to both marketing and sponsorship sales?


Our client is an international B2B media group operating across exhibitions, publishing and online media and is looking to further build on its already strong presence in the emerging markets.


This is a great multi-disciplined opportunity for a self-motivated Conference Manager who will be responsible for delivering innovative regional and international conference programmes across our client’s flagship exhibition in Indonesia. The successful candidate will also develop a commercial (fee paying) conference division, marketing and selling products, including developing sponsorship opportunities.


Key accountabilities


  • Marketing and sponsorship: Developing strategic marketing plans (market research, competitive analysis, target audience identification/segmentation) to sell delegate places. Copywriting, briefing creative teams, designing direction of advertising, brochures and other sales collateral. Implementing communications plan (direct mail, email, advertising, website, social media and telemarketing) to ensure all communication is delivered on time and within budget. Identifying sponsorship opportunities.

  • Project management: Liaising with show teams, on production issues, and other departments, including print and production and sales. Liaising with external suppliers, including mailing house, registration companies and media. Developing relationships with marketing teams within key clients to maximize promotion opportunities, gain industry insight and improve customer care. Developing databases. Event support (manning stands, media coordination, registration).

  • Business development: Maximizing cross-selling opportunities across related events and publications. Looking for new growth opportunities. Growing division to accommodate 5 additional show launches.

Essential skills and attributes


  • Track record of producing successful conference programmes

  • Proven experience of marketing conferences

  • Ability to implement marketing strategies to sell delegate places

  • Solid experience developing and selling sponsorship into conferences

  • Strong, flexible team player

  • Impeccable English, written and spoken

  • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills

  • Financial/budget management experience

  • List /database management experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent project- and time-management skills.
