Sales Manager for Construction Coatings


The Company:
a Chemical Manufacturer Company is seeking a Sales Manager for Construction Coatings

The Role:
• Develop and implement mid-term (3-year) Construction Coating sales plan for local markets and drive sustainable profitable business growth in accordance to Company’s business conduct guidelines.
• Establish Annual Operating Plan and operational initiatives to meet annual decorative coating sales budget/objectives. This plan should include growth initiatives that meet Key Suppliers’ market share expectation, penetration of key customers, meeting NPI expectations and annual volume target. Drive related business development initiatives/ project implementation and follow ups.
• Work closely with related business development/business drivers (local management/ regional) to ensure relevant market intelligence (eg. market trend, opportunities, and threats) and competitors’ information (benchmarking, mergers and acquisitions) are reviewed.
• Lead sales team to achieve sales growth, cost control and other key matrixes across products and segments. This includes maintaining and developing product lines for top 10 customers, development of new markets for the construction coating, and manage project pipeline’s progress reports for related suppliers.
• Demonstrate Customer Ownership: manage sales channels (where applicable); build up and implement Customer relationship management and Customer mapping; work on customer segmentations and new customer identification.
• Drive efficiencies in Working Capital: This includes managing forecast accuracy within required range for all major SKUs, involvement in local inventory management initiatives and drive accounts receivables for related market segment.
• Manage Key Suppliers and products, develop and strengthen relationship with stakeholders/managers of key suppliers.
• Ensure overall team’s execution of smooth sales transactions, provide/coordinate required technical support services, and manage customer feedback and complaints.
• Lead and develop a sustainable and professional sales team locally through coaching and developing people. This includes performance management of direct team and continuous drive for a high performance culture.


Essential Skills / Qualifications:
• Bachelor/Master in sales and marketing, business administration, chemical, sciences or related areas.
• At least 8 years of sales and marketing experience within the Coating/Chemical industry or related industry with 5 years or more experience in sales management roles.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to develop short to mid-term strategies and strategy execution capabilities.
• Strong leadership and management skills to be able to provide direction, set priorities and objectives to drive the operational business. Ability to develop, coach and guide the team to create a motivated and assertive organization.
• Ability to expand network and build market intelligence in the industry.
• Strong command of both written and spoken English.
• Hands-on MS Office skills.
• High integrity and ethical standards, and an excellent role model for the organization.


Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
• Strategic with good analytical skills to develop strategic approach supported by data and practical assumptions. Strong business acumen and entrepreneurially responsive to market opportunities.
• Good problem solving abilities. Able to work independently and operates with a high degree of discipline to execute per commitment.
• Customer focused, with good planning and organization skills to prioritize and implement tactical plans.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills and able to interact effectively with all levels of management.
• Leadership based on natural inclination to engage with people, to motivate and lead teams both direct and indirect. Self- motivated, results orientated with high drive and need for achievement.
• Solid interpersonal and influencing skills with ability to establish relationships across organization levels, with both internal and external stakeholders.
