Master Teacher


Job Description


Overview


We are seeking a person with excellent spoken and written English and teaching
experience to:
1. Teach secondary students and adults English as a second language.
2. Support teaching volunteers from the refugee community how to teach–the
pedagogical skills they need to engage students–as well as to observe, give
feedback, and mentor new teachers.


Due to the vulnerable nature of the refugee community, the broader goal of this position
is to create a safe and welcoming learning environment while fostering hope and
learning in a marginalized community. This is a full-time position.


Requirements and Responsibilities


The candidate must be able to:
1. Teach classes in English to youth from 12- to 20-years-old. Cambridge University
curriculum and learning goals will be provided, which teacher will may adapt to
individualize lesson plans toward preparation for Cambridge exams.
2. Mentor new teachers in best practice teaching skills, including through
workshops, individual meetings, observations, personalized feedback, and giving encouragement to teachers from within the refugee community.
3. Serve as a liaison between Indonesian, refugee, and expat communities and
advocate for refugees within the wider Jakarta community. Translate documents between English and Indonesian if necessary or assist in translation at meetings on occasion.
4. Carry out administrative tasks such as copying, printing, and organizing materials
related to teaching and arranging meetings with teachers as necessary.

Compensation


* An annual salary of Rp48,000,000 to Rp60,000,000, depending on experience.


*A 1-month bonus per year paid once a year.


*Taxes and social security payments ( JamSostek and Pajak ) at up to 15% of annual
salary.


*Beyond base salary, health insurance payments of up to Rp400,000 per month for the
program of your choosing.


*Days of leave including all public holidays and 14 personal days a year (for sick days,
holidays, or family support).
