Job Description
International Organization for Migration (IOM) Indonesia is looking for a Senior Project Assistant according to the terms of reference below:
I. POSITION INFORMATION

Position title: Senior Project Assistant
Position grade: General Service Staff, Grade 6
Base Salary: IDR 17,392,667,- per month
Duty station: Jakarta, Indonesia
Type of Contract: One Year Fixed Term Contract
Organization Unit: Counter-Trafficking and Labour Migration (CT/LM) Project
Reporting directly to: National Project Coordinator
Overall supervision by: Chief of Mission
Estimated start date: Immediately
Closing date: 31 December 2015
II. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE
Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Under the direct supervision of the IOM Indonesia Counter-Trafficking and Labour Migration National Project Coordinator (NPC) and under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission IOM Indonesia, the incumbent will provide assistance in the implementation of IOM Indonesia’s Countertrafficking and Labour Migration projects.
III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Provide specialized assistance in planning and implementation of the on-going IOM Indonesia’s counter-trafficking and labour migration projects; identify and analyse potential implementation issues; as well as assist in planning and designing of activities.
2. Prepare draft donor report and other reporting documents and coordinate with relevant IOM offices on reporting matters (including report submission) as well as on any other request for project amendment and extension if needed.
3. Assist the NPC with quality control of all project deliverables both content and format-wise, assure timely and complete donor reporting including financial reporting and budget monitoring for all counter-trafficking and labour migration on-going projects.
4. Identify potential project ideas in relation to counter-trafficking and labour migration related issues and provide assistance in the development of project proposal in coordination with IOM Indonesia’s Project Development Office and Finance Unit.
5. Maintain strategic liaison with local and international state and non-state actors including private sector for on-going and future counter-trafficking and labour migration project activities.
6. Assist NPC to monitor allocation of resources, both human and financial and other day to day operations, pertinent to CT/LM project implementation as proposed adjustments as necessary.
7. Assist the NPC with additional cross-cutting project implementation tasks, as follows:
a. Undertake representational duties in project-related functions (workshops, seminars,
coordination meetings, etc.) on behalf of NPC, as required. Draft minutes of any meetings or event attended.
b. Ensure meeting minutes and monitoring reports are filed, and that all project files are
maintained and kept up-to-date.
c. Undertake in-country duty travel related to project implementation, monitoring, assessment
and problem-solving, as requested.
d. Provide assistance in drafting letters of correspondence, etc as necessary.
8. Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

V. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
a) Indonesian National with Good knowledge and understanding of the labour migration and human trafficking context in Indonesia
b) University Degree, preferably in Political/Social Sciences, Law, International Relation and has relevant combination of training and experience. Master degree in this field will be an advantage.
c) Minimum six years’ related working experience in project implementation and related field.
d) Strong research and analytical skills.
e) Well versed in written and oral communication skills in English and Indonesian, including the ability to explain and present technical information; able to draft written documentations in a clear and concise style in both English and Indonesian.
f) Strong liaison and networking skills with state and non-state actors.
g) Strong training experience.
h) Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment and to maintain effective working relations with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
i) Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools like word, excel, PowerPoint.
j) Able to manage workload within general schedule of work, instructions and standard practices. Able to work with minimum supervision and maintain composure under pressure.
k) Team player and willing to travel to monitor project activities.
VI. LANGUAGES
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia, both oral and written
