Indonesia Country Representative

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Promote the UTZ Certified program and related good practices

• Maintain strong market linkages, and support members and partners in the implementation of the UTZ program by:

− Liaising with local producer organizations, traders and service providers

− Liaising with national governments, partner organizations and agricultural institutes

− Participating in national and regional sustainable agriculture platform(s)

− Facilitating client visits, press trips, and market-focused events

− Providing supply and field/producer based information, and ensuring its flow to UTZ Headquarters


• Contribute to the market strategy, including possible future consumer marketing opportunities, for UTZ Certified

• Manage the staff implementing the UTZ program in Indonesia

• Support all UTZ departments in their field of expertise in Indonesia, e.g.:

− Monitor and improve the quality of implementation and certification processes

− Ensure the proper implementation of UTZ traceability in local context

− Facilitate contact with Certification Bodies

• Manage the project development and implementation

− Establish, develop maintain key strategic partnerships/collaborations

− Contribute to the development international project proposals and local fundraising

• Lead strategic and work planning and management (legal, personnel and finance) of the Representative Office under the supervision of UTZ Certified


CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

• Indonesian nationality

• Master’s degree preferably in relevant field such as agriculture, development economics, environmental science or other related disciplines

• Minimum eight years of experience in the coffee, cocoa and/or tea sector, experience with business support to producers and supply chain actors and preferably with the UTZ program

• Extensive working experience in the region and minimum eight years of experience with agricultural sustainability programs and good agricultural practices in coffee, cocoa and/or tea sector

• Experience in designing, supervising and evaluating strategies in an international (rural development) context

• Credible ambassador, communicator, networker with advanced intercultural skills and able to work with different types of stakeholders (e.g. producers, governments);

• Self-driven and strong initiator and leader within a group

• English (excellent in verbal and writing)

• Willing to travel regularly
