PURPOSE


:


Define, develop and execute strategies for facilitating quarterly business plan and forecast updates as well as delivering monthly dashboard analysis against business key performance indicators to executives and leaders within the Projects, Technical Services and Exploration departments. Includes defining vision and approach for transforming service offering to that of a financial planning & analysis organization.


Perform wide variety of duties necessary to drive continuous improvement of business services and institutionalize and facilitate information sharing of best practices.


Establish standards of excellence for delivering value to customers with a service mentality.


Provide critical information to decision makers to allow the corporation to make better business decisions.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Establish, implement and lead delivery of business service offerings within the Project Execution Services office: Develop strategies, define and document processes, and lead efforts to facilitate and execute quarterly business planning and forecasting processes for Projects, Technical Services and Exploration.


Develop strategies, define and document processes, and lead efforts to facilitate monthly processes to deliver analysis against key performance indicators for Projects, Technical Services and Exploration.


Develop strategies, define and document processes, and lead efforts to transform service offering to that of a financial planning and analysis organization for its customers and key stakeholders.


Process owner for delivering portfolio analysis of Advanced Projects Expense spend and Corporate Opportunity Fund allocations for review at the monthly OPC meetings.


Process owner for the support estimation and charge-out efforts provided by Functions to Studies, Projects, Exploration, Operations and Initiatives. Includes aligning with Corporate leaders and key stakeholders on the development and deployment of a revised charge-out approach along with tools and processes to prepare charge-outs and deliver trend analysis against budget.


Develop strategies and lead efforts to transition the business to leveraging capabilities from Pangaea-deployed tools, including BPC and ECC. Lead efforts to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of SAP-related tools.


Establish, implement and lead delivery of services offerings that support clients and partners.


Build and maintain effective relationships with key Partners and Clients across the organization and externally.


Attract, develop and retain a highly effective team that provides subject matter guidance and expertise to the business.


Lead change management and drive organizational effectiveness across key activities and initiatives.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position is located in the Denver corporate office.


Telephone calls before and/or after normal business hours are required.


Position may be required to travel to, and assist other domestic and international sites.


Qualifications


TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
Requires leadership, management, judgment, advances problem solving, communications skills and initiative.


The ability to participate in, manage and motivate teams is essential.


Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with adaptability to work with people from various cultures and areas of the business; builds and maintains highly effective working relationships.


Strong oral and written communication skills appropriate for consultation to all levels of management. The ability to present ideas clearly, facilitate discussions and reach agreement or consensus.


Minimum of B.S. degree in business, finance, or related discipline; Masters/MBA degree or other certification of a CPA or equivalent is preferred.


Requires 8-10 years of progressive experience, preferably in a mining environment or natural resources company, and management experience with multi-functional, broad-based management responsibilities.


Exposure to SAP product suite and Newmont ERP tools preferred.


Ability to manage projects and team leadership skills required.


PMP certification or other project management training a plus


International experience, exposure and breadth important.


Ability to think strategically; comfortable moving between strategic and tactical requirements of the role.


Broad business knowledge and focus, ability to recognize issues, problems and capitalize on opportunities.


Ability to influence and drive change in the organization.


Ability to mentor, coach and direct workgroup by establishing stretch goals for development of staff and promotion of business growth within the global corporation.
