CLTS Training Consultant

WN is seeking highly qualified candidates to fill the position of CLTS Training Consultant. Working under the direction of the Program Manager, the CLTS Training Consultant will be responsible for training WN staff, 3 local NGO partners, CBO volunteers and key government officials on the CLTS methodology and approach in how to empower communities to stop open defecation, through constructing and using their own sanitation facilities without the use of subsidies.

This consultancy will be based out of WN’s office in Oecusse Region.


Key Requirements

To train, through both theoretical and practical sessions, WN staff, local partner staff, CBO volunteers and key government officials on CLTS.


The training will include both classroom and field work activities. The field work will include at least one ‘triggering event’ in a community in Oecusse.


Estimated Time frame of Consultancy

14 working days, tentatively scheduled for end of September/beginning of October 2015.


Expected Outputs

1 Prepare training materials and handouts CLTS training materials developed

2 Facilitate a comprehensive CLTS training in Pante Makassar, Oecusse Region


Organize at least one community triggering and immediate post-triggering activity during the training One CLTS facilitator training successfully organized and conducted for at least 52 participants.

3 Prepare training report Training report submitted


Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject.

• Minimum 8 years of experience working in the WASH sector, especially in rural sanitation in Timor-Leste or eastern Indonesia.

• 5 years of experience implementing CLTS projects in Timor-Leste or eastern Indonesia.

• Demonstrated and certified CLTS trainer skills and experience.

• Demonstrated gender and cultural sensitivity including understanding of gender issues in CLTS.

• English language proficiency.

Preferred

• Familiar with the current sanitation situation in Oecusse.

• Tetum and Baikeno language proficiency.


Remuneration

WN will pay a daily rate in USD which will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience. WN will also cover all accommodation, visa (if needed), flights (economy class), internal travel, and consumption costs while the ODC is traveling to/from, and in Oecusse. All home-office costs are to be covered by the ODC. The payment schedule will be agreed upon between WN and the successful candidate.
