2015 Experienced Hire Drilling Rig Supervisor job - Exxon Mobil - Houston, TX





Job Description
• The Rig Supervisor position at ExxonMobil offers an opportunity to join a high performing team focused on ‘Taking on the world’s toughest energy challenges.’ ExxonMobil Drilling is leading the industry in the areas such as extended reach drilling and developing resources in remote areas / deep water. The Rig Supervisor is front and center directing the action at the well site, ensuring ‘Nobody Gets Hurt’ and protecting the environment while ensuring the well meets all well objectives. Primary Job Functions
• Direct day to day well site operations with emphasis on safety, environmental protection, wellbore integrity, cost control and efficiency improvement.
• Work with Drill Team (Engineering and Rig personnel) to flawlessly execute the well design.
• Analyze and communicate ongoing well-related performance events and steward Drill Team efforts to improve performance.
• Manage interface and relationships with local regulators, contractors onsite and other ExxonMobil functional groups (e.g. construction, production operations).
• Execute program in compliance with ExxonMobil Operations Integrity System and Company standard operations practices. Job Requirements
• Significant relevant Drilling experience in positions of Rig Site Supervisior, Tool Pusher, OIM or Rig Manager. Knowledge and experience in the areas of Well Control, Rig Design, Drilling Fluids, Cement Design, Geology.
• High level of personal and professional integrity. Demonstrated teamwork and leadership skills, able to manage self and lead others in a diverse work team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. Able to adapt communication style between leading onsite team to relaying technical information to office based team.
• Demonstrated ablility to mentor less experienced Rig Superviors and Engineers.
• Basic computing skills (Work, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Willing and able to travel to any ExxonMobil field drilling location (domestic and international) to supervise activites on rotational work schedule. Must have valid passport that will allow for immediate international travel. Preferred Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
• Five or more years of relevant experience as a Rig Supervisor or Rig Manager
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in a relevant, technical discipline (e.g. Civil, Chemical, Construction, Construction Management, Electrical, Industrial, Safety, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering Technology).
• Familiarity with challenging drilling environments (e.g. Deep Water, Arctic, Extended Reach, High Temperature / High Pressure).
• Rig design and construction experience. Rig equipment knowledge including BOP systems, rig automation, deepwater stationkeeping.
• Advanced well computing knowledge (e.g. WellView, Directional Drilling Software).Rotational to drilling sites worldwide as needs dictate. Job Location
• Currently have operations around the globe including Abu Dhabi, Angola, Australia, Canada, Germany, Indonesia, Iraq, Kurdistan, Malaysia, Nigeria, Norway, Qatar, Romania, Russia and United States.
• Work schedule is rotational; work period is typically two to four weeks with a corresponding period of days off. Travel to Houston, TX required for infrequent meetings and training.
